Quick Overview:

The Serene is a two axis spring arm that attaches at the end of the Easyrig arm to stabilize Y-Axis movement.

Details

The Serene is a two axis spring arm that attaches at the end of the Easyrig arm. It stabilizes vibrations and motion errors on the vertical axis that comes from walking or running with the rig. It also stabilizes side to side errors in the same scenarios by counter pivoting around it’s centre axis. At the same time you have full use of the Easyrig spring extension that will allow you to go from high to low mode while at the same time the Serene will take care of the vertical and side to side stabilization adding two more stabilized axis to your existing system.
The Serene can take rigs between 5-20 kg, and you can easily fine tune the spring tension without tool. Of course it works great with the Gravity One, but it also works well with other gimbal rigs like the Freefly Mövi, B-steady or most other gimbal rigs.

How does the Serene mount?

The Serene mounts at the very end of the Easyrig arm, and the cable is routed upwards and through the Serene instead of the normal method; straight down from the tip of the Easyrig. To make this happen you have to slightly alter your Easyrig arm with one or two holes (depending on Easyrig model). This is a fairly easy modification, that most can do themselves. We supply a drill template piece for exact placement of the holes. Mounting instructions can be downloaded direct from Flowcine's Documentation website. If you feel uncomfortable doing it you can contact us for modification (additional fees plus freight charges apply) or get help from your local dealer.

The story of the Serene

Image of the prototype
The first prototype was made for proof of concept, and was sent to some chosen interested DoPs for field testing and feedback, While working on several improvements and redesign of the total arm to make it 100% reactive and frictionless, using steadicam (used as a term) arm technology, and after several prototypes we finally created the ultimate version of the Serene, which is currently in production.
